Getting a school program started

Starting an Aboriginal languages program requires a realistic timeframe, good planning and good relationships between community members, school staff and linguistic researchers. Some language and culture revival work needs to be underway within the community. The school program will be a reflection of that community work.

Click here for a PDF with practical advice about how to get an Aboriginal Languages Program started. It was developed with input from several school-community teams from across NSW who were participants in the Term 3 Aboriginal Languages Sharing Workshop 2006.
