School and Aboriginal Community Context
School and community context: Exploring visions of place and time
Exploring visions of place and time was designed by Shauna Colnan, who is currently Director of Curriculum and Professional Development at Barker College, having formerly been Barker’s Head of English. Barker College is a large independent Christian school catering for students from Year 3 to Year 12. It is located in Hornsby in Sydney’s northern suburbs. While there is no Aboriginal student population at Barker currently, there is great potential to expose the student population to Aboriginal Australia in order to expand and enrich their educational experience. Barker is situated within the Ryde/Hornsby Regional Aboriginal Education Consultative Group, which forms part of Guringai country.
