PDHPE
Stage 4 Units of Work in Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE)
These units of work were developed by practising teachers at high schools across NSW. The units explore such concepts as sense of self, change, challenges, connectedness, bullying and seeking help.
A brief description of the contexts for which each of these units were written can be found in the 'School and Aboriginal Community Context' sections of each unit.
The units were informed by the PDHPE Years 7–10 Syllabus (2003) which has the stated aim of '...incorporating knowledge, understanding, skills and values relating to cultural diversity, social justice, discrimination, racism, prejudice and ... the influence of culture on adolescent health.'
The units were developed in particular school and community contexts, but they are sufficiently felxible for their universal message to be adopted by other shools.
