How did you go about making links with your local Aboriginal community?

I would contact the local Aboriginal Education Consultant in our district, contact Aboriginal Elders, talk to our parents. I think thats the best place to start. Talk to your own parents of your Aboriginal students, ask them what they would like to see included in your curriculum area.

What strategies would you use in developing further teaching units to address Aboriginal perspectives in Science?

Start with your curriculum, look at areas that would be beneficial to include the Aboriginal perspectives in. But then, given that Aboriginal students families are just so vitally important to them, why not use that. Get the families involved, bring them in, talk to them, get them involved in actually writing the units of work with you.
