In this lesson the children were asked to list all the kinds of things they needed to consider when planning a picnic.

A lot of the students were confused about what the question actually asked. They were more focused on what food to bring, what drinks to bring and things that I wasn't actually asking for in the questions.

What I was more concerned about was when they started talking about various games they could play, and the space in playing the game that they needed and also having a picnic.

When the children did mention these things I tried to ask them questions and wanted to know what their ideas were about the space they needed and how they were able to describe it.

I liked Gurpreet's idea about marking out the field for the football game with sticks, and I also liked Joshua's ideas about using the trees as goal post.

Now I was quite concerned at the beginning of the lesson when, like I said earlier, when a lot of the students were more focused on what they brought rather than planning the actual picnic.

Though I am glad that towards the end of the lesson there was direction into the space that was needed and my next lesson will follow on.
