Journal 5 – Planning day and analysing BST results

17th of May – Planning Day #2

The day I had planned was completely different to what I actually did. I had intended on looking at all our school-based resources with Daphne (AEA), then going to Doonside High School in the afternoon to talk with Michelle (AEA) about Aboriginal art. I became side-tracked when I decided to investigate BST results of my students (2001 results). I became very interested in the sorts of questions they had difficulty with, as well as the strands. I collected this data and was able to graph the results. This was excellent pre-assessment that made it very clear to me what areas of space I should focus on!

My next planning day I will start piecing my unit together as well as spending some time looking at the sorts of resource that I could use.
