The Journey's Just Begun
Enhancing schools’ capacity to partner Aboriginal communities to improve student learning

The Journey’s Just Begun was originally published as a 44-page handbook and 30 minute DVD demonstrating how genuine partnerships can create far-reaching benefits for schools and communities.
The professional support materials follow the journeys taken by four NSW schools to improve student learning by engaging parents, Elders and Aboriginal community organisations in curriculum projects.
This facilitator handbook and video follows the journeys of four communities and schools (Broulee Public School, St Joseph’s Primary School Walgett, Gilgandra Public School and Gilgandra High School) working together to develop locally relevant and culturally appropriate curriculum.
The package is a professional learning tool for school staff and community members and leads to the development of a local Project Action Plan that is structured, relevant to school and community needs, achievable and collaborative.
